What is an ESA?
An Emotional Support Animal is a pet that is not trained for a specific task who provides some sort of therapeutic benefit such as comfort, companionship, and protection for those with a psychiatric or emotional disability.

Who qualifies?

An ESA is for an individual with a psychiatric or emotional disability that causes a significant impairment on major life activities or activities of daily living such as depression and anxiety.
Is an ESA a Service Dog?
​
NO! An ESA is NOT a service animal. They are not protected by the ADA or Texas law. An ESA is only protected under the Fair Housing Act. YOU are responsible for your pet.
Why do I need an ESA letter?

Texas landlords/property owners are not allowed to refuse to rent to you due to your ESA. They cannot turn you away for restrictions such as breed/weight limits nor can they require you to pay a pet fee. ESA letters also need to be renewed every year per Texas law.
Who can write an ESA letter?
ESA letters can be written by A licensed mental health professional who has a therapeutic relationship with the individual seeking the ESA letter. This can be a licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, or social workers.

Complete this self assessment form and email your results to SteinfeldSSolutions@aol.com. It will be reviewed and you will be contacted within 24 hours of submission with an approval/denial.

If you have been previously diagnosed with a mental health disorder you will qualify and you do not need to fill out the self assessment form.

We can also discuss this during a scheduled meeting. You will NOT be charged if you do not qualify.
